THE GREAT CLASS 4 BREAD BAKE OFF
Class 4 participated in the The Great Bread Bake Off this week as part of their Vikings topic. They were set an exciting challenge by 'Mary Perry' to invent a new flavour of bread.
The children found out about how bread was made, they engaged in some market research and product analysis by tasting current breads on the market and then came up with a class design criteria to follow.
They explored how to knead and shape dough using salt dough, tasted a range of savoury and sweet ingredients to add to their bread and then designed their bread shape and flavour.
The Bakers measured out the ingredients for the dough, kneaded it for 10 minutes and then added their chosen ingredients. The dough was left to prove for 30 minutes!
The bread was baked in the oven for 13 mins and then presented before the Class 5 judges for tasting!
The Class 5 judges tasted the final bakes and marked them against the design criteria.
It is fair to say that all bakes were a resounding success!
Take a look at our amazing final bakes before we got to sample them!
Here are Year 4 playing along to Justin Timberlake during their Ukulele lessons. They have been learning for 4 weeks, have learnt 4 chords and are so enthusiastic!
