Homework

The most important homework in Class R is reading! Please try to read with your child at least five times a week. A few minutes a day can have a huge impact on their progress and confidence. The children will have an e-book which is set each Friday and is the same book that they have read in class during the week. Having already read it in school they should be able to read it with a degree of fluency. We also give another reading book of the same level. (These will be changed on Tuesdays.) They also have a small plastic wallet of 'tricky words' to practice reading. These cannot by decoded with phonics and just have to be remembered so often take lots of practice before they are embedded.

On Friday we will send home a Phonics and Maths homework which supports the learning from the week. Dojo points will be given for those who hand in their Maths homework!

Show and Tell is on Thursdays. It is a lovely opportunity for the children to develop their speaking and listening skills. If your child has something they would like to share, please send a photo on Class Dojo. It could be a special holiday, day trip or party, an achievement or a toy. We love hearing what the children have to say!
